A solid place to get your carbs in while shopping at Valley Fair. More of 3.5, but we left pretty satisfied. I didn't have an amazing experience at Terra (food was subpar), so when a friend and her young child wanted to visit Eataly for the first time, we opted to try this place. It was bustling on Monday at lunchtime but we were seated right away. The decor is simple but still slightly upscale, and they have large windows overlooking the pizza and pasta kitchens. They had a kids menu but it's limited to basic pizzas and pastas with marinara or butter and cheese - my friend's child had a more adventurous palate so we opted to all get our own $29 lunch specials. Several items on the lunch special menu have a hefty up charge, but the extra $12 for the fried calamari and zucchini appetizer (not pictured) was well worth it - the lemon aioli for dipping was delicious. I also enjoyed the Arancini, though I tapped out after the second rice and cheese ball, knowing a big plate of pasta was coming. My friend and I got the pappardelle al ragu di funghi, while her child got the cacio e Pepe. The mushroom pasta is my go-to, and even though you can buy a big tub of the ragu in the deli section for cheaper, I can never resist. The pappardelle itself was perfectly al dente, but I took a bite of the cacio e Pepe and those noodles were borderline crunchy. All in all, we'd definitely come back again!

We had lunch at La Pizza & La Pasta today, and it was delish as always. The presentation was lovely, the food was flavorful, and the server was very nice. I've said it before, but people should not come here expecting American Italian. It's not what Eately is about. We tried the gluten free pizza crust and it was surprisingly tasty. It did have more of a bite to it, similar to mochi, but it wasn't bad tasting and knowing we were cutting our carbs but still had plenty of flavor, it was great! The indulgence was the fried zucchini flowers. Oh my!

Food: Fiori De Zucca 5/5 A tangy crispy rich delight. It's stuffed to the brim of a ricotta cheese mix that has a slight smoky flavor Would highly recommend getting this is you like cheese Parppadelle al ragu di funghi ( white sauce). 3/5 Earthy flavors. Mushrooms are really highlighted. Lacking much flavor otherwise. Would ask for extra cheese with this pasta While I did label this as a white sauce, there isn't actually much sauce at all I wish it was creamier with a thick sauce. The noodles are the al dente texture and had the perfect amount of chew. Rigatoni All'matriciana ) red sauce) 4/5 Guanciale. Guanciale. Guanciale Loved the meat in the pasta. It really completed the rich tomato sauce. Felt like a step above using ground beef or pork. Other than those flavors, it got a good amount of cheese. The pasta was cooked al dente for this one as well. Pistachio Panna Cotta 3/5 The apricot gele took away from the delicate panna cotta taste. It was too strong of a flavor and it was very coying. The crumb and roasted almonds were a nice textural difference to the silky panna cotta. Would have preferred to have the panna cotta without the gele Service: Standard friendly service! No qualms here. Ambiance: My friend once referred to Eataly as Italian Disneyland. This is accurate as there's great care into making the restaurant a blend of rustic and modern with key details that don't really serve a user function other than adding to the ambiance.. which makes it a fun place to have a casual lunch or dinner with friends and family.

We intentionally chose a somewhat off time, with a 4pm reservation on a Saturday. We were a little early but they seated us promptly. We got the focaccia bianca which was amazing, especially with the sea salt on top. We also got the fettucine al burro di tartufo e parmigiano which came with a tableside presentation in a huge parmesan wheel. The pasta was so delicious. I'm not even a huge truffle fan and even I enjoyed this one. We also got the cacio e pepe which was solid and the burrata e pesto pizza. The only downside was just the price point. Some of the items seemed a bit pricey for what they were but, overall, it was a great meal!
